..but has discovered La Boulange on Jervois Road, Auckland, and can't resist. Everything is baked on site, which when you're used to Marks and Spencer's tasty but mass-produced pastries, is a rare treat. The layers of pastry are so delicate that the top just flakes at a bite, but still has that gooey chewiness on the inside. They also do homemade macarons, cob loaves and tasty baguettes. Totally trumps a bowl of weetabix.
La Boulange is at 214 Jervois Road, Ponsonby, and is open mon-fri 7am-3pm
